Anyone else, who is not a paying member of Deviantart is getting annoyed by certain ads that you just can't block?

I am.

Not gonna stick around here for too long if it keeps being this way, right now there are a lot of other sites worth of using to showcase one's works. And they're not so annoying to watch.

Hey guys and girls! How is it going? I hope everyone is great and really busy

I just wanted to share what may become a great step in my life. Due to how employment opportunities are not anywhere to be seen in my country, I've really been thinking to just work on my own, being my own boss. In this journey I wanted some company and I managed to convince a friend of mine to tag along. We are, as of today, totally focused on making it happen.

Everything about being your own boss seemed really hard and obscure at first, but bit by bit I'm realizing that is not so. Yeah, you have to work it out, of course. But anything that's worth has always a lot of work behind.

The global idea is to make a graphic and editorial design business. We both like it and think is what we're best at. Right now we're stuck on thinking names, which started being in english (such as TwinDesign) but now are starting to take a more spanish look. After that we'll have to think out the logo, corporate colors and everything else. For me that is just so much fun to do!

I'll try and keep you posted as we move on with this project, which I hope will be real in no more than two months.

It's been a while sice the last time I uploaded anything or wrote a journal. But, as we say in Spain, better late than never!

The thing is, after my last submission (Burning Cathedral), I had to take my cam for sensor cleaning to a workshop in Málaga. After two and a half weeks I got it back, but then, every picture I took got overexposed.

After a month or so I gave up trying to figure it out (and arguing with the guy at the workshop) and sent the cam to the official Nikon technical service in Madrid. That was towards the end of July, and in Spain almost nobody works in August. So I finally got the cam fixed two days ago. It seems like the shutter was broken, not a cheap repair...

Also, I've been working all summer, making some web templates and other things related with web pages in the mornings, and creating a shoe catalogue (70 pages long) for a company in Elche during the evenings. So I haven't had much time to do creative stuff, except for work.

But, I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. The catalogue is almost finished (just mending mistakes right now) and I got my camera back. So I hope to be uploading new stuff soon.

Hello Deviants and random people who are just passing by,

I'm not much of a journal writer, but I thought having 1000 visits was worth a try. So here I am, writing it. And the main thing I'd like to do is thank everyone who has appreciated what I've done in some way. Either commenting, downloading stuff, with favourites or watching me.

At first, I began visiting DA looking for resources and/or inspiration from the great amount of artisits present in this vast community. But, as I watched and learned, it became clear to me I wanted to try and be the one submitting instead of watching and downloading stuff. And though I still believe I have a long way ahead, I think I've managed to do just that.
